Creation & Flourishing: Living the Christian Life

What is the meaning of work? How does God speak to us? Where can I find happiness?

Participants in this series of seminars on Creation & Flourishing: Living the Christian Life will ask fundamental questions about the human experience, turning to the great philosophical and theological minds of the Western tradition. Under the guidance of seminary and university professors, students will dig into some great texts that will help to illuminate our discussions of four topics:

  • April 21: C.S. Lewis: The Discarded Image

  • May 5: The Call of Men in Sacred Scripture

This study examines the call account of five men in Sacred Scripture: Moses, Gideon, Jonah, Jeremiah, and Peter. The five accounts will be compared, with emphasis on how God calls various men, how each one responds, and how God gives each man the grace and strength to fulfill his mission.

  • May 19: Homo Viator: Living Our Faith as a Pilgrim

  • June 2: Craftsmanship & Human Flourishing

In addition to study and inquiry, the PCSP endeavors to form the whole person. Our formation of the intellect through study, argument, and writing, will be complemented with a rich participation in the prayer life of the Church. More than just minds and souls, we are also embodied and social creatures. So our discussions, themselves, will be enriched as friendships are formed among the participants.
